The Twenty20 Cricket World Cup: The Cricketing Revolution
To truly enjoy the Twenty20 Cricket World Cup, you have to have know and understand the Twenty20 rules. Bowlers can only bowl four overs a match so there has to be at least five bowlers on both Twenty20 teams.
There is a 75-minute limit put on each Twenty20 team's bowling time, and for each of the twenty overs that they bowl over that time limit, the opposing team is give six runs. The exception to this Twnety20 rule comes if the batting team is wasting time. The umpire can then choose not to award any penalty runs.
There can only be two fielders outside the 30-yard circle during the first six overs, five fielders outside of it after the first six overs and five on the leg-side at any given time. This is meant to make it more interesting, and no doubt will in the Twenty20 Cricket World Cup!
There is also a provision for tied games under Twenty20 rules too so that there has to be a winner! If the two Twenty20 teams are tied at the end of the game, the five main bowlers of both sides have to bowl twice at an open wicket. The Twenty20 team whose bowlers hit the wicket most wins! If there is still a draw then, Twenty20 rules stipulate a sudden death bowl!
